PENN Entertainment, a leading gaming and racing company in the United States, has announced its support for military veterans through a scholarship program. The company will provide financial assistance to military veterans who are interested in pursuing post-secondary education and career opportunities in the gaming industry.
The new program, called the "PENN Military Scholarship Program," will offer up to $10,000 in tuition assistance to veterans who are enrolled in, or interested in enrolling in, a program related to the gaming industry, such as hospitality, marketing, or casino management. The scholarship will be available to veterans who have served in the US Armed Forces and are planning to attend an accredited college or university.
"PENN is committed to supporting the men and women who have served our country, and we are thrilled to launch this scholarship program to help veterans pursue new career opportunities in the gaming industry," said Jay Snowden, CEO of Penn National Gaming. "We believe that veterans bring valuable skills and experience to our industry, and we are excited to help them succeed."
The PENN Military Scholarship Program will be administered by Scholarship America, a non-profit organization that helps students achieve their educational goals through scholarships and other financial assistance. The program will be open to veterans starting in the fall of 2021, and applications will be accepted through May 31, 2022.
The gaming industry has long been a popular career destination for military veterans, who bring a range of valuable skills and experiences to the industry, including leadership, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. The PENN Military Scholarship Program will provide much-needed financial assistance to veterans who are looking to transition into new career paths in the gaming industry.
